Box Maze Review
Not Recommended
Oh my god, the menu alone is so awful. I'm not sure if this is meant to be a game or sarcastic art.
- Menu makes no sense with random key uses, or mouse, and gamepad. Nothing makes sense with inconsistencies and seemingly random selective functionality (volume slider only works with mouse. DLC and achievement menu items don't seem to work at all.). In the tutorial I had to swap between mouse to click and read help texts, and keyboard to move. Steam Controller didn't seem to work, except for pressing start to instantly quit the game without confirmation.
- Movement is unsatisfying. Jumping is super slow.
- Graphics are pretty bad
- No updates (menu still shows greenlight ad)
- Time second counter is not even in seconds
The second level surprises you with two goals, and you'll have to just pick one with a chance to fail. I can't condone such game design. It is out of your control whether you win. You'll just have to take chances and redo the level.
