Mondrian - Abstraction in Beauty Review
Not Recommended
I really feel like I’m missing something, because it was just boring to me.
It is more efficient to just let ball bounce on the walls, because it will then have a better direction than if you bounce it off of yourself. So all I did was watch the slow bouncing ball, occasionally moving my bar to cover the one opening.
While the unlockables are probably fun if you enjoy the game, for me it just looked like all of them made the game harder/worse/more confusing. I’m not one for point-grinding for unlockables, so this system did not appeal to me either.
Control-wise, I would have wished for a more directional input via mouse or controller instead of only having left+right movement, but I guess that’s a game design choice (I did not like).
I’m a little confused about the otherwise very positive reception in Steam reviews, so by all means, if you like breakout games, take a closer look.
