Subnautica Review

What a great world to explore, what a great environment and atmosphere!
The game starts with the best intro I can remember (even with as short as it is). The world is vivid and beautiful, has great variance and great and numerous surprises!
Gameplay consists of exploration, resource gathering and building/transforming.
The VR feature is mediocre. Swimming around is great, interacting/picking stuff up not a problem, but it seems VR mode removes some aspects from the game (part of the intro, scene transitions (entering the pod)), and the menu navigation with a game pad is pretty bad, while mouse and keyboard does not work at all - I could not manage to get into the game from the menu. Sadly, no room scale or motion controller use either. So gameplay wise VR is not really feasible. Performance with 3x rendering (desktop screen still renders full screen even in VR mode) takes a big hit, and may require further adjustments. But exploration wise and swimming around, definitely enjoyable.
