Gibbon: Beyond the Trees Review
Not Recommended
The swinging mechanic is great, and you can tell the developers really cared for the product and message.
Unfortunately, movement/traversal felt mostly frustrating to me.
+ Great swinging mechanic
+ Branching traversal routes (always left to right, but branching and joining vertically)
+ Mostly great graphics, rich level design and background world
* Although it becomes a bit ridiculous story-wise, well executed message and (in the middle) atmosphere
- Frustrating after the initial jungle area (I died many times in fire) with slow and way-back gameplay resets
- Tutorial felt stiffling, with repeated interruptions
It's not a bad product, but I can't actively recommend it.
