The Fire Hunter

Rating: 7

Feels interesting and experimental. Very strong in story telling, hindered by the experimental directing choices.

Scenes cutting to elaborate still images to make a point, to put on an accent, is certainly unique, but breaks the scene, the mood and tension. Unfortunate.

The action it has is always pretty short, or visually evasive. For how much of a part these scenes play in the setting and story, they could have certainly pulled more weight.

Some of the setting is rather unrealistic or inconsistent or unexpected to reason.

Especially the ending / conclusion felt a bit rushed and forced.

Apart from that, The Fire Hunter develops an interesting world and story, and tells it in a different way. I enjoyed it for those good aspects.
