Takopi's Original Sin
Damn, Takopi’s Original Sin is a very good series with great contrasting, impact, and serious topics of suicide and children in harsh environments. It is often quite irritating and uncomfortable - in a good storytelling and artistic way, giving this a unique style and making it unique and significant overall.
While I often don’t like “cutesy” mascot characters, in this series Takopi serves as a contrasting tool - naivity and ignorance, opposing real struggles, challenges, and misery.
Two things I didn’t like in particular; one story jump felt a bit too much, although the continuation mostly justified it, and the ending is quite forced rather than plausible, just to end in a positive conclusion, which feels unfitting to the otherwise very realistic, serious, and negative themes.
Trigger warning (if you need those): Suicide, Physical Violence
Great, significant series if you can appreciate the at time uncomfortable topics being visited and represented.
