Helck is good, mostly for its humorous contrasting.

Helck is a human of incredible strength. He is seemingly shallow - if not simple - nice, honest, and happy. In a world of rising conflict, inequality, lies, and with a troubled and unresolved past, he participates in a contest to become a demon lord in the demon realm, where no humans have been for hundreds of years.

Thankfully, the obnoxiously loud shocked response comedy trope eventually subsides, and actually gets meaning in the third half of the series.

The middle third of the series is Helck talking about his past - which we see played out - which felt quite out of place and did not get me attached or interested at all.

Overall enjoyable with strong and weak parts.
