Demon Slayer

Season 1: Great premise, great parts, that is absolutely ruined by obnoxious characters. The series is hyped and apparently well beloved. I can’t agree with that sentiment. It totally falls flat due to grave issues beyond the interesting setting, premise, and main characters interactions. 5/10

Movie Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train is not the worst, has nice action animation, but the at times dumb or obnoxious characters, exaggeration, unfitting inner monologue, … quite a few things were irritating. Can be a worthwhile watch. But not really something I would recommend in itself. 7/10

Given that the movie is a (story) summary of season 2, which I did not watch, I wonder if the pacing and direction issues are due to reuse/shortcuts in that regard.
