OpenNIC – Alternative to proprietary Top-Level-Domains
Ever heard of OpenNIC?
Our DNS Server and especially Domains are pretty much a top-down structure.
OpenNIC goes more of an open-source and community way, providing free DNS servers and their own domains .indy, .geek, .null, .oss, or .parody each having its own guideline. The oss Top-Level-Domain for example is for open source projects only.
Of course their free DNS servers will also resolve “normal” top-level domains.
