Moving the Pidgin Profile Folder

I just found this small note in my local JS wiki and thought I’d post it here.

To make Pidgin use a folder you want it to as its profile folder, just set the environment variable PURPLEHOME to the folder, which will hold the .purple folder.

Changing the name of the .purple folder is not allowed. You’ll have to name a parent folder then.

This is especially helpful for using Pidgin with both, Windows and Linux, and use the same profile.
