Kane & Lynch 2 – Demo Impressions

Tried the Kane & Lynch 2 Demo today. Here’s what I think about it:

Sadly, another bad console port. Controls are bloated, optimized for a gamepad. I also had the impression the shaky and blurry camera, which a unique style and atmosphere, was meant to be seen on a TV on the other side of the room. It seemed a bit too much for me, with my monitor right in front of me.

The GamePlay, well, I didn’t like it. The sound seemed to come from wrong directions. Once my avatar (Lynch I think) started talking it was like he was on the other side of the room.

The duck, run & gun gameplay was pretty bad as well…

The atmosphere, although it was a pretty short try, did indeed seem mature, dark, dirty and really intense.

On PC, this is a definite no-buy for me. It may be an enjoyable game on console though, who knows…
